Who can participate in trinket trading?
Trinket trading is for EVERYONE! It’s a great way to get kids involved and comfortable in the park. It’s also a great ice-breaker for new World Walkers, because it gives you an instant conversation starter with the Everfolk. Literally anyone can participate in trinket trading.
What should you trade?
Obviously, small items are generally preferred over larger ones. With the amount of trading that happens, most people want to stash their trades in a pouch or pocket.
I personally favor small gems, coins, and the like. Children generally prefer to trade tiny toys and gems. I’ve made an Amazon list of my favorite trinket trading items for all ages, which can be found here.
Amazon is my favorite place for trinket trading items because you can find a lot of cheap, bulk items that are delivered right to your door. Most of our deliveries arrive within one day. It’s the easiest way to restock on trinkets for our next Evermore trip!
Here are a few of my favorites:
Who should you trade with?
Although you can ask literally anyone to trade, these Everfolk are known to participate in Trinket Trading:
World Walkers may also engage in trinket trading. Xanderax always has trinkets available. It never hurts to ask!
How should you initiate the trade?
There are many ways you can start the conversation. Here are some suggestions.
- “Do you have anything to trade?”
- “I have something that might interest you.”
- “I would be willing to part with this, for a price.”
- “Do you happen to know anyone who might in the market for some goods?”
You don’t have to accept a trade if you don’t want to!
Sometimes, the person you are trading with may not have anything that interests you or they may not be willing to pay your asking price. If you have anxiety like I do, it may feel awkward to break off the trade. However, you never have to accept a trade that you don’t want. You can always discontinue a trade at any time.
